Bongane steps into the role of CERPA Chairman with a professional background in urban planning and is currently completing a master’s degree in property development and investment, giving him insight into how planning decisions, investment, and everyday community realities intersect.
He is passionate about safeguarding Chintsa’s character while supporting thoughtful, well-considered development that benefits both residents and the environment. He believes strong communities are created when people are informed, engaged, and able to influence the places they live. He also values social contribution and community connection, volunteering at the local aftercare programme to help empower young people through engagement and mentorship.
As Chairman, Bongane builds on the work of previous committees, focusing on continuity, transparent communication, and constructive engagement across the community. He values collaboration, accountability, and systems that enable volunteers and committee members to work effectively.
His leadership style is calm, considered, and people-centred, grounded in the belief that strong community organisations depend on trust, participation, and shared responsibility.
We are working hard to improve Chintsa East for all its residents and visitors
